Abstract

The participatory market chain approach (PMCA), the multi‐stakeholder platform (MP), and the horizontal evaluation methodology (HE) are three methodologies developed and promoted by the Papa Andina initiative and partners in Bolivia, Ecuador, and Peru. This research aimed to improve participatory methodologies so they would stimulate innovation through the inclusion of a gender perspective, with practical tools to promote women’s participation in decision‐making processes. Participating institutions and staff were trained in gender mainstreaming. Training workshops allowed participants to apply this perspective in other areas of their work as well.
