Abstract
The conference involved participants from West African countries, development partners, research institutions and civil society. The establishment of the West African Centre for the Advancement of the APRM was endorsed as a regional centre to promote good governance and democracy within the sub-region. The African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) fosters the adoption of policies, standards and practices that lead towards political stability, high economic growth, sustainable development and accelerated continental economic integration. At the end of the conference, participants affirmed that the APRM has become a powerful instrument for promoting good governance. Highlights of the conference discussions are provided.
