Abstract
“Cities, Poverty and Food” presents the experiences of the Resource Centres on Urban Agriculture and Food Security (RUAF) Foundation in multi-stakeholder policy formulation and action planning for urban agriculture. RUAF has carried out programs in over 20 cities in 17 countries, under the Cities Farming for the Future (CFF) program (see also www.ruaf.org). The programs described in this book demonstrate that local authorities in many countries recognize urban agriculture as an integral part of the urban socio-economic and agricultural ecosystem, which deserve proper policy attention and support. A back-of-the-book “Resources” section points to key readings on urban agriculture.
