Abstract
IDRC, through the MIT Development Ventures initiative, makes available a limited number of Action Grants for promising MIT-related project teams pursuing viable development ventures. The DINUBE Mobile Enabled Cloud Payments project aims to close the inequality gap in banking services with a mobile-enabled payment platform that syncs any basic mobile phone to a cloud computing application in order to facilitate universal, ubiquitous payment. The goal is to create an alternative payment system to credit and debit cards, enabling all members of the population to gain access to financial services, regardless of their income level.
