Abstract
The presentation reviews a study aimed at the design, implementation and evaluation of an intervention that included political level components, communications, educational and intersectoral work aimed at reducing the transmission of dengue in the city of Cali. The focus of the intervention was prevention of transmission and not towards disease control. This was based on institutional and community participation. The presentation includes some details of the teaching sequences and awareness raising components of the intervention.
