Abstract

Using an integrated approach to environment and natural resources issues in cities, project themes include urban agriculture, urban water and sanitation, waste management, and vulnerabilities to natural disasters, with land tenure as a crosscutting issue. The document reports on implementation of a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) support project for 2006 to 2010. It highlights the project’s major outputs and outcomes for M&E methodology development and capacity strengthening in the Asia focus cities (FC) projects. The FC projects’ M&E outputs were used to develop the global monitoring framework for Focus Cities Research Initiative (FCRI), part of the Urban Poverty and the Environment (UPE) Program Initiative.
