Abstract
23 Protected Areas (PAs) cover 18% of Cambodia, where over a million rural people, with varying degrees of dependence, use PA resources for their livelihood. The Livelihood in Protected Areas (LiPA) project is implemented jointly by the General Department of Administration for Nature Conservation and Protection, under the Cambodian Ministry of Environment (MoE), and by field researchers including commune councils, park directors and NGO partners. The research aims to understand and develop multi-stakeholder approaches for natural resources management (NRM) within protected areas. The LiPA team gained experience in cooperation and conflict management. This is a detailed report of project activities.
