dc.description.abstract This policy brief highlights developments in global negotiations on the conservation, development and use of plant genetic resources for food and agriculture, and the realization of farmers' rights. In light of a new resolution on farmers' rights, adopted at the Third Session of the Governing Body of the Treaty (International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture, 2009) the brief also suggests some strategies that the Treaty's Contracting Parties should pursue for the protection and promotion of farmers' rights at national and global levels. en
