Abstract
LEISA newsletter (Low External Input and Sustainable Agriculture) is about the technical and social options open to farmers who seek to improve productivity and income in an ecologically sound way. The feature article expands on farmers’ perceptions as an important entry point for climate change mitigation and adaptation initiatives. LEISA articles focus on the optimal use of local resources and natural processes; efficient use of external inputs; empowerment of male and female farmers; and the communities who seek to build their future on the basis of their own knowledge, skills, values, culture and institutions.
