Abstract
Colombia has one of the highest levels of forced internal displacement in the world. In 2004, Colombia became the primary source of refugee claimants in Canada. The aim of the research is to identify how social fears, historical memory, and social representations of refugees and displaced people influence both their integration into a new social environment and the responses of receiving populations. The book is It is made up of three volumes in each of the receiving countries, Colombia, Ecuador and Canada. Each includes an analysis of contextual factors influencing forced migration. This section focuses on Canada.
