Abstract

As part of the Urban Poverty and Environment (UPE) program, the Focus Cities Research Initiative (FCRI) was established to promote in-depth research on links between environmental burdens and urban poverty in selected cities; in Africa: Dakar (Senegal), Kampala (Uganda), and Soukra (Tunisia); in Asia: Jakarta (Indonesia), and Colombo (Sri Lanka); in Latin America and the Caribbean: Moreno (Argentina), Lima (Peru), and Cochabamba (Bolivia). The Focus City Learning Forum was a five-day event for research teams to share and showcase their own learning through video and poster presentations, discussions, and paper presentations. The report provides a detailed overview of the conference/forum.
