Abstract

This edition of Kimasomaso analyses the findings of a research conducted in Nairobi's slum areas, which paints a grim picture concerning the standards and accessibility of medical services in these underprivileged areas. Interviews with slum dwellers show the lengths they go to in order to acquire medical services. Government representatives shed light on measures aimed at regulating and improving the standards of medical facilities in the slum areas.
