Abstract
The Pan Asia Networking Programme works with Asian institutions to help them better understand complex issues relating to the ‘information society’. The vision is to provide accelerated and broad access to ICTs at the community level, and especially among urban and rural poor people. One of its objectives is to undertake pilot demonstrations, proof-of-concept, experimental and applied research ICT projects in disadvantaged communities within target countries in Asia. This report covers research activities in information and communication technology for development (ICT4D), digital development pilot projects, distance training, support for women in ICTs, project outputs, dissemination and impacts.
