Abstract
The presentation provides Ecuador’s path to Internet connectivity, listing milestone dates and activities of Consorcio Ecuatoriano para el Desarrollo de Internet Avanzado (CEDIA). It provides graphics that map building the network backbone; bandwidth, infrastructure and costs for fibre networks are included in the presentation. A national research and education network (NREN) is a specialised internet service provider dedicated to supporting the needs of the research and education.
