Abstract

UbuntuNet Alliance publishes a monthly e-bulletin, the key content of which is news from, about, or of interest to National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) in Africa. Mauritius has established contact with UbuntuNet Alliance regarding establishing a new NREN. The Alliance will assist them in funding participation of their Observer member at the Nairobi Council of Members meeting and hopefully their NREN will develop swiftly. The newsletter covers many initiatives, events and updates of the UbuntuNet Alliance which serves as the regional backbone network that interconnects National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) and connects them to other regional networks.
