Abstract

Among other topics in this issue: the relationship between UbuntuNet Alliance and the Association of African Universities (AAU) continues to rise as the two organizations work together where the AAU gives continental level policy leadership to research and education networking in Africa; the Virtual REN Project aims to connect National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) that use VSAT (very small aperture terminal) for international access to the UbuntuNet Router in London, in order to establish connectivity of NRENs to the international research communities. The newsletter covers many initiatives, events and updates of the UbuntuNet Alliance.
