Abstract

UbuntuNet is the regional backbone network that interconnects National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) connecting them to other regional networks in Africa, and publishes the NUANCE e-newsletter. This issue contains news of a Carnegie Grant for UbuntuNet; European Union Feasibility Study (FEAST) for EC support to REN activities in Africa; a situational survey of the telecommunications sector policy and regulatory environments covering 22 countries in the membership region; appointment of the Board; and other NREN news updates.
