Abstract
UbuntuNet Alliance publishes a monthly e-bulletin the key content of which is news from, about, or of interest to National Research and Education Networks (NRENs) in Africa. The Alliance’s mission is securing affordable high-speed international connectivity and efficient ICT access and usage for African NRENs. UbuntuNet’s routing hub is located in London as the majority of African university campuses depend on VSAT connectivity. In networking terms, the London router is closer to these campuses than any Internet site in Africa. This issue shows a map of Africa that depicts its enormity relative to other countries.
