Abstract
Academy of Development Science (ADS) has implemented the IDRC-sponsored project on Social Analysis Systems (SAS) during January 2005 to August 2008 in collaboration with SOBTI, Maharashtra; DRCSC, West Bengal; Laya, Andhra Pradesh and with technical guidance from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. ADS and SOBTI have used various SAS tools for a study on Gaothan or village land rights issue of the Katkari tribal community while DRCSC and Laya have used SAS tools in their work on sustainable agriculture and forestry. ADS and DRCSC have also organised over 20 training programmes in the use of SAS tools for organisations in different parts of India. The training has helped in promoting the use of SAS tools by development agencies in India.
