Abstract

This collection of papers provides an overview of patterns in international development, led by the keynote speaker for the Canadian Association for the Study of International Development (CASID) conference, Jan Knippers Black. Her address, “Human Rights, Democracy, and Development in an Age of Global Insecurity” covers themes that are expanded upon in the volume. Migration, exploitation, neoliberalism, and “The Rise of Disaster Capitalism” are central features of this journal edition.
