Abstract

The article reports on an ICT platform that links farmers and the market in a way that is cost effective. The ICT concept is built around bridging between different value chain partners, while guaranteeing farmers a market for their produce through provision of fixed-price contracts. The new ICT platform links farmers to processors, exporters, large retailers and institutions in a process that leaves farmers pocketing more than 86 percent of their produce.
