Abstract
The workshop focused on issues related to sustainable development and the current status of practices for sharing and archiving scientific information resources related to sustainable development in the SADC region, with specific reference to health and biomedical data, earth and environmental science data, and scientific, technical and medical literature. Discussions also centred on scientific, legal and policy, institutional and economic, as well as management and technical factors related to providing permanent access to digital scientific information resources. Recommendations generated discipline-specific actions as well as broader and longer term actions.
