Abstract

The presentation analyzes effects of the Egyptian labor law (No. 12, 2003) on the informal job sector. The law aims at increasing flexibility in the labor market, and provides comprehensive guidelines for the recruitment, hiring, compensation, and termination of employees. Noticeable changes are seen in private, non-agriculture wage (PNAW) work.
