Abstract
This paper provides an overview of the current state of ICT indicators and their relationship to sustainable development (SD) indicators. When considering ICT indicators, important distinctions need to be made between access, usage and impact. For instance, impact indicators are usually derived from analysis of primary or secondary data, and this is the level at which ICT indicators link to sustainable development. Access or usage indicators are also useful in measuring sustainable development, but what needs to be demonstrated is the link between access/usage indicators and impact. This link is likely to be different across countries.
