Abstract

The presentation covers how to draft a specific policy brief in terms of knowledge translation (KT). The aim is to encourage productive national policy dialogue with key stakeholders. In this case the topic is the transmission and treatment of malaria in Uganda, focusing on evidence-based research for health planning and policy making. To encourage dialogue, the suggested format in the preparation process is: one page of key messages; three pages for the executive summary; twenty-five pages devoted to a full scientific report. The presentation includes background information on existing malaria research and research groups, policy guidelines, stakeholders, and governance arrangements.
