Abstract

The presentation provides information on publishing, copyright and open access systems. It explains concepts of the creative commons and flexible licensing models. Automated Content Access Protocol (ACAP) is an open standard that will develop alongside technology and business models. The presentation also provides some benefits of new web publishing models for developing countries. Publishing and Alternative License Models (PALM Africa) is an action research project funded by IDRC.
