Abstract
The goal of the author is to help make interactions between citizens and their government more effective, and guide activists through various levels of political power in the Canadian parliamentary system, in order to better achieve policy response. Policy is vast and complex and there is a need to strengthen both the role of citizens and of Members of Parliament (MP). To be effective, advocates need to start by considering some fundamental questions about themselves and how they want to work, where ‘politics is the art of the possible’ (Otto von Bismarck).
