Abstract
Based on interviews with international experts, International Model Forest Network (IMFN) partners, and discussions with the IMFN Consultative Committee, this report discusses lessons learned from other international networks, looks at challenges and opportunities, and examines future options. To date, the model forest concept has been applied in forest-dominated ecosystems. Over the years as model forests have established themselves, many participants observe that model forest principles can also be effective in important non-forest areas. This issue of the newsletter provides insight into global partners perspectives.
