Abstract
Through the “Communication for influence: linking advocacy, dissemination and research by building ICTD networks in Central, East and West Africa (CICEWA)” conference, the project seeks to help achieve universal affordable access to broadband information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure, in Central, East and West coasts of Africa, and to build regional ICT development (ICTD) research and advocacy networks. Country reports and updates were presented on ICT programmes in Rwanda, Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, and Tanzania. The cost of connectivity is still high, and ICT research and policy advocacy issues are ongoing.
