Abstract

The research indicated that Kenya (and Africa in general) is viewed as a country with challenged infrastructure, poor work culture and constraining socioeconomic environment. However, Kenya has a high chance of being a favorable outsourcing destination if correct measures are put in place. This policy brief outlines key strengths, including a highly skilled and competitive labour pool, neutral English accent, and strategic location as a regional hub for communication and finance. Critical success factors could include policy priority given to IT Business Process Outsourcing sector, in dedicated economic zones that spur growth, as well as cyber security training and awareness policies.
