Abstract
African Copyright and Access to Knowledge Network (ACA2K) investigates the relationship between copyright and access to knowledge in eight African countries: Ghana, Egypt, Mozambique, Kenya, Morocco, Uganda, Senegal and South Africa. The presentation describes research needs and next steps. Overall there is a demand for enhanced digital environment/online/distance learning; a need for format conversion for visually-impaired users; clearer provisions for reasonable copying for private use/teaching/learning; an environment that balances the needs of rights-holders as well as educational institutions.
