Abstract

The workshop was designed to identify capacity building needs in adaptation to climate change so that West and Central African regional and sub-regional institutions can better incorporate these issues in their political Agendas. Other objectives included mapping out institutions’ capacity building needs based on adaptation to climate change; better visibility of external partners in their support of institutions charged with implementing political initiatives; and emergence of knowledge sharing networks. A “champions network” could act as a consultative framework designed to ensure the sustainability of the actions initiated.
