Abstract
In Asia, applications of community-based natural resource management (CBNRM) cover a range of development goals, from biodiversity conservation to strengthening crop production/seed systems, and sustainable upland/forestry to aquatic resources management. An emerging challenge is to document how capacity development is contributing to CBNRM research and development performance. This paper constitutes a proposal to enhance, plan and design methodologies for evaluating processes and outcomes of capacity development, with nine organizations from China, Mongolia, Philippines and Vietnam participating in case evaluation studies.
