Abstract

The book is a collection of selected papers that were presented at the first Living the Information Society conference (2007). The papers are characterized by three main themes: how the use of ICTs affect day-to-day living; how access to ICTs is changing (or not changing) society; and finally, how ICTs change the way people work and are governed. They examine the ways that people’s lives in Asia are being affected by ICTs and new ways of communicating (via Internet, mobile phones, cameras, blogs, short messaging system, call centres).
