Abstract

The analysis led visiting neighbouring communities and individuals to markets, with farmer/campesinos leaders using tools independently to design their own projects. The project, called “Force Field” examined major barriers the campesinos face when trying to link up with product chains. Participants included a three-member training team from Centro de Investigación, Educación y Desarrollo (CIED); 920 campesinos in 20 workshops; and 50 Peruvian professionals from various non-governmental organizations. The CIED focuses on innovation in agricultural technology and social organization for rural development.
