Abstract:
Tanzania is hosting a four year program established to address climate change adaptation issues in Africa, and those related to the capacity building of African scientists and other stakeholders. This report presents the deliberations and plans of project team members at the project inception workshop. The goal is to strengthen the capacity of individuals and organizations within agricultural innovation in less favoured areas (semi-arid Central Zone Tanzania and Chikwawa/Karonga, Malawi) and more favoured areas (Southern Highlands, Tanzania and Mulanje/Mzimba Malawi) of Tanzania and Malawi, to adapt to challenges arising from climate change and variability.
