Abstract
This investigation was undertaken to evaluate the risk related to the agricultural use of untreated wastewater into the bones’ metabolism at a rural population in the area of Settat in Morocco. It concerned 134 adults having an average age of 39.3 ± 16.9 years belonging to two rural clusters using wastewater in agriculture, and 86 adults having an average age of 40.4 ± 16.2 years, belonging to a witness rural cluster which does not use wastewater. Each agreeing person benefited from a complete clinical examination with collection of anamnestic information. The bones’ metabolism was appreciated by the level of calcium and phosphorus in the blood and the urines and by the level of serum alkaline phosphatases. The individuals of the exposed population have a "osseous risk" significantly higher than those of the reference population. The family cases are more frequent at the level of the exposed population.
