Abstract
This poster/summary illustrates social analysis system (SAS) applications in Honduras, where farmers were recognized as much experts on farming issues as agronomists. A more people-centered development paradigm requires that participatory social analysis be an essential part of the process. Development organizations need methodologies to assess, diagnose, plan, monitor and evaluate the different processes they deploy in the field. At the professional level, a group of Honduran SAS practitioners developed a certification process to recognize advanced SAS practitioners and instructors.
