Item Scaling up the international impact of action research : SAS phase 3; final technical report(Carleton University, Ottawa, ON, CA, 2011) Chevalier, Jacques M.; Buckles, Daniel J.Scholarly research, advanced teaching materials, and trained instructors are needed to bridge the gap between university teaching and the actual practice of participatory action research (PAR). Project outputs include scholarly publications as well as capacity building activities which reached more than 1,000 researchers, and firmly established Social Analysis Systems (SAS2) teaching and training resources in Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Bolivia, Peru, Chile, Honduras and Canada. These attempts to organize have had uneven results. This Social Analysis Systems (SAS) case study examines member assessment of the milk producer’s co-op to arrive at a consensus that would help ensure that newer members of the organization appreciate the history and struggles of older members. This would encourage a sense of belonging among all members, enabling it to move forward in initiating new negotiations.Item Timeline of factors influencing the origins and evolution of a milk - producers cooperative in Honduras(2007) Suazo, LauraThe case study used Social Analysis Systems (SAS) methods to identify events and actions that influenced the evolution of the producer organizations from which the United Producers Agricultural Cooperative Limited (COAPUL) emerged, and to validate the results of the analysis. Participating groups discussed the problems created by floods and landslides, their experience with efforts to create or support livelihoods that could reduce the risks and impacts of floods and landslides, and project goals and plans.
