Abstract
Disasters result when hazard intersects with vulnerability. This presentation provides information regarding the distribution over time of natural disasters and their global impacts, such as the effects of earthquakes, tsunamis and extreme weather incidents. It includes a section on “Canadian Activities in Natural Hazard Mitigation and Climate Change Adaptation” along with approaches to disaster mitigation.
