Abstract

Trent Centre for Community-Based Education (TCCBE) and U-Links Centre for Community-Based Research (U-Links) members participated in a day-long workshop with Jacques Chevalier, Co-author of the Social Analysis Systems (SAS). The workshop was designed to introduce some key concepts and tools of SAS while also producing immediate results to be used in the environmental scan and strategy development phase of the TCCBE strategic planning process. Recognizing the need for local knowledge and delivery organizations that are responsive to the varying needs of different communities in the region, U-Links has worked as the bridge between Trent University and the rural communities of Haliburton County since 1999.
