Abstract

Originally conceived as a series of meetings to encourage Canadian institutions to take up the recommendations of “Connecting with the World,” the Strong Report Follow-Up project evolved into a two-faceted endeavour. More research and understanding was deemed necessary on the nature of knowledge networks, and how they could be put to the service of sustainable development. The three collaborating institutions highlighted the need for "learning by doing," taking immediate action in forming a knowledge network on Climate Change. (Maurice Strong was Canada's representative on the World Commission of the National Task Force on Environment and Economy).
