Abstract
The article provides a glimpse into work done by researchers in the field of ecohealth. The Adaptive Methodology for Ecosystem Sustainability and Health (AMESH) helps development researchers cope with complexity. AMESH builds on a wide range of practice and theory borrowed from systems theory, ecosystem management, health, development, and participatory action research. Rather than relying on a fixed, linear checklist, the methodology employs a set of branched and nested questions. Researcher David Waltner-Toews of the University of Guelph is the focus of this article and the approach to environmental health.
