Abstract
Increasing attention is being paid to the reality and the potential of the contribution of African Diasporas to the development of their home countries. Presentation slides review diaspora associations and partnerships in African countries, as well as the book “Semantics Aside, the Role of the African Diaspora in Africa’s Capacity Building Efforts.” Worsening economic hardships, social unrest, political turmoil, and declining work and living conditions at home intensify the brain drain or skilled labour mobility outflow. Internet usage and knowledge networks are seen as one solution to a multi-faceted issue that is discussed in these detailed reports and presentations.
