Summer school in Asian language processing : PAN localization project, June - Aug. 2006
Abstract
The International Development Research Centre (IDRC), through its Pan Asia Networking (PAN) program developed an initial three-year partnership in a South and South-East Asia-wide initiative to build capacity in regional institutions for local language computing, a programme designed to sample the cultural and linguistic diversity in the whole region. The paper provides a report on outputs and activities of the programme. Reports and data produced during the summer school on eleven languages are currently being compiled for book publication by trainers in the program.
