Abstract

This paper works towards developing a strategy for mainstreaming Indigenous Knowledge (IK) in Kenya as part of the ongoing policy process. The strategy could focus on key development areas (arranged and outlined in section headings): Human and animal health and nutrition; Food security; Cultural education and living values and ethics; Technology development and transfer including ‘jua kali’ (informal self-employment economy); Conservation of biodiversity and sustainable use of resources; and, Policy and legal framework.
