Abstract

The Acacia Initiative: Communities and Information Society in Africa funded two ICT policy development processes and enabled the IDRC to have an immediate and significant policy influence in the ICT field. However, Acacia could have had a greater impact on the ICT policy formulation process, where issues demanded a more critical analysis of their implications for, and potential impact on women. The report provides details of the Acacia project activities in Uganda, including an evaluation of operational aspects, activities, gender policy and ICT policy influence.
