Abstract
Two articles feature Partnership Africa Canada’s (PAC) work on the impact extractive industries have on human security in Africa. The first article features work of the civil society organization, Natural Resources Network in DR Congo. The second describes the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme for Rough Diamonds (KPCS). Members of the Natural Resources Network collaborated with PAC in producing the study, “Hard Currency: the Criminalized Diamond Economy of the Democratic Republic of Congo and its Neighbours” (2002). PAC (now IMPACT, 2017) is a civil society coalition which campaigns for resources for African civil society organizations.
