Abstract

Video consists of two parts: part one (Sri Lanka, ca. 10 min.) examines rural women who improved their lives and that of their children through education and small-business creation with the help of non-governmental organizations; part two (Kerala, ca. 14 min.) examines the lives of women in the India state of Kerala, where the standard of living is considerably higher than elsewhere in that country.
