Comparative analysis of hawkers in major South East Asian urban areas, their role in the urban retail marketing system, with an evaluation of current local government policies - discusses the effects of various urbanization patterns on the distributive networks; existing attitudes and locational and structural actions towards hawkers (consideration of location factors, licensing, fiscal policies); spatial dimensions, economic aspects, personal characteristics.
